UPDATE 26.06.2017 BAB is happy to be supporting refugees in Serbia

Podučavaju srpski, engleski, matematiku, geografiju, istoriju, biologiju i sl.

obrazovanje 5 puta sedmično (engleski, srpski, matematiku, geografiju, kreativne i umjetničke radionice, crtane filmove i sportske aktivnosti).

BAB is very happy to have given a donation to help fund necessary materials needed to support refugee children in Serbia. You can read more about what the group we are supporting does below. Refugees Foundation Serbia focuses on providing education opportunities for young refugees in Serbia. They started their work in September 2016. They are involved in two projects in Serbia.

1.  They are supporting kids who have enrolled in formal education in Belgrade. Their volunteers are escorting kids from camps to schools and back, and giving classes there. They teach Serbian, English, Mathematics, Geography, History, Biology etc. Furthermore, the volunteers in Belgrade are   borrowing space in the center of Belgrade to teach classes two times per week in order to   help with homework. This became specially important during the school break time!

2.  They also just started to work in the camp in Pirot (South-East of Serbia) where currently 200 refugees live. 140 of them are from Afghanistan, 20 from Syria and the rest are from Iraq and African countries. This camp is a reception center, with around 100 kids and most of them are girls. The camp has been running since December and until they arrived, there was no one working with children. Refugee foundation Serbia provides child friendly spaces and informal education activities 5 days per week, teaching English, Serbian, mathematics, geography, doing creative workshops, art workshops, playing games, playing cartoons, doing sports etc. As well, they are teaching English and Serbian classes with adults. Soon, they will start organizing events that will involve local kids meeting refugee kids.
